Eliza Levy

Eliza LEVY was born in Geneva in 1978. Her personal work brings out new worlds and forms. She studied film at Paris 8 University under Jean-Louis Comolli, and honed her craft as a director by filming the Parisian hip-hop scene of the 1990s, especially through a long collaboration with Oxmo Puccino. For twenty years, she shot, edited, and directed various formats for cinema and television, including an episode of the fourth season of Engrenages TV series (2012), and the short film Kairos (2014), starring Reda Kateb. She is currently adapting Wajdi Mouawad’s novel Anima into a series (Arte). In 2015, she engaged in a conversation with Philippe Descola. “What Philippe Descola has brought to light, the multiplicity of ontologies, and thus the relativity of our own, offers an incredible breath of fresh air for the poetic and political imaginations of our time. It provides the basis for forging new stories and myths with life-saving rigor.” Two movies will result from their collaboration: Composing Worlds (2021), and The Fake Transparency of Reality, a feature film in the making.
