Jean-Bernard Memet
Doctor of Materials Science specialising in marine corrosion and professional diver, specialist in metallic materials and electrochemistry, he has been working for nearly 20 years in marine corrosion and the conservation of underwater objects, including 2 years at Ifremer, Institut français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer (marine corrosion projects and corrosion protection of structures at sea), 5 years at the University of La Rochelle (PhD and post-doctorate on the corrosion of port and naval infrastructures) and 5 years at Arc'Antique, a laboratory for the conservation-restoration of archaeological objects, as head of the underwater sector.
In the underwater archaeology sector, Jean-Bernard Memet regularly works alongside underwater archaeologists as a diver / site laboratory manager (La Natière, Lapérouse expeditions, the Hermione).
In March 2007, Jean Bernard Memet created A-CORROS, a company based in Arles specialising in corrosion diagnosis and expertise (port infrastructures, historical monuments and archaeological objects). In 2008, in association with Philippe de Viviés, curator-restorer of cultural property, he created a heritage conservation-restoration sector within A-CORROS.
