Nicolas Bourriaud

Nicolas Bourriaud is a curator and writer. He is the general Director of Montpellier Contemporain (MO.CO.). He founded and co- directed the palais de tokyo in paris (1999- 2006). He headed the studies department at the Ministry of culture in France (2010- 2011), and was Director of the École des Beaux-arts de Paris (2011-2015). He was Gulbenkian curator for Contemporary Art at Tate Britain (2007/ 2010) and founder advisor for the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in Kiev. He is the curator of the Istanbul Biennial 2019, The Seventh Continent.
He published several theoretical essays, including Relational Aesthetics (Les presses du réel, 1998); Postproduction: Culture as Screenplay: How Art Reprograms the World (Les presses du réel, 2004); Radicant: for an aesthetic of globalisation (Denoël, 2009) and The Exform (Verso Books, 2016).
