The Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents presents its third edition under the theme “Face to Face”.
Viviane Sassen, president of the jury, talks with Pamela Tulizo, winner of the award, about her work, her artistic choices and her inspirations.
In her series Double Identité composed of 13 self-portraits, Pamela Tulizo embodies an african woman oscillating between her identity and the role she is given by a globalised society. Shot in Goma in the North Kivu region, her photographs bear witness to the political, ecological and financial instability in this Congolese province.
Pamela Tulizo
Native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Pamela Tulizo worked as a journalist for a brief spell before determinedly dedicating herself to photography. Her work centres essentially on issues of female identity.
