Together with the contemporary art centers E-werk (Germany) and Rupert (Lithuania), we are members of The Sustainable Institution, a european project comprising an international symposium series, an interdisciplinary artist residency, and a digital toolkit.

The artist residency offers a platform for creative practitioners to develop innovative approaches in addressing climate change and reducing the environmental impact of exhibitions.

Through the Sustainable Institution toolkit, a publicly accessible resource created in collaboration with the Gallery Climate Coalition, individuals in the cultural sector can actively contribute to systemic change. This toolkit includes material prototypes, symposium excerpts, performances, practical guidelines, a curated collection of resources, and a project's carbon calculation, empowering users to embark on their sustainability journey.

The symposium programme focuses on sustainable transformation from economic, humanitarian, and ecological perspectives. By bringing together artists, curators, sociologists, geographers, economists, scientists, anthropologists, conservators, and design studios, we foster collaborative efforts to generate tangible solutions for the cultural sector.

Co-funded by the European Union, Teltow Fläming, Musikfonds and the Lithuanian Cultural Council. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the other granting authorities.
