Dior Prize for Photography and Visual Arts for Young Talents 2021
LUMA Arles was pleased to host the fourth edition of the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents as a guest program at the Parc des Ateliers, from July 4 to September 26, 2021.
Created in 2018 by Parfums Christian Dior in partnership with LUMA Arles and the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (ENSP), the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents is an international competition for students and recent graduates from leading art and photography schools around the world.
Invited to respond to the theme “Face to Face”, the exhibition featured the work of twelve artists selected by a jury chaired by Norwegian photographer Torbjørn Rødland. The jury also included Pixy Liao, Coco Capitán, Tyler Mitchell, Maja Hoffmann (Founder and President of LUMA Arles), Simon Baker (Director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie), and Jérôme Pulis (Director of International Communications at Parfums Christian Dior).
2021 Award Winners
Cédrine Scheidig (ENSP, France) was named the overall winner of the fourth edition.
The twelve selected artists were:

- Kata Geibl – Royal Academy of Art (The Hague, the Netherlands) – Photography
- Jessica Gianelli – Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London, United Kingdom) – Photography and Video
- Huang Lei – Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (Shanghai, China) – Video
- Winnie Mo Rielly – École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (Paris, France) – Photography
- Cédrine Scheidig – École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (Arles, France) – Photography
- Xia Ye – Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (Shanghai, China) – Photography
- Evgeniya Zhulanova – Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia (Moscow, Russia) – Photography
- Sixtine de Thé – École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (Paris, France) – Photography
The jury awarded the top prize to Cédrine Scheidig, a student at ENSP (Arles, France), for her photographic series It Is a Blessing to Be the Color of Earth.
A Special Jury Mention was also awarded to Sixtine de Thé of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (Paris, France).
