June Balthazard

June Balthazard makes hybrid films confronting documentary with forms that are further from reality. In this respect, her films are imbued with magical realism. Her work has been shown in museums such as the Taipei Fine Arts Museum; arts centers like Les Tanneries and La Ferme du Buisson; and international festivals, including the Melbourne Film Festival in Australia, the Busan Festival in South Korea, Go Short in the Netherlands, RIDM in Canada, and Visions du réel in Switzerland, where she received the Opening Scenes Award in 2018.
