    "Science fiction explores oppression, race, and culture."

    In her work, Nalo Hopkinson explores how science fiction transforms imagined worlds into reflections on reality. In this video, she discusses her creative journey, shaped in part by the influence of writer Samuel R. Delany and her commitment to representing Black cultures. Hopkinson also reflects on the emergence of Caribbean futurism and the ways science fiction can be used to engage with social and cultural issues.
