    Interview with Lionel Bordeaux

    LUMA Days #4 Joins the First Edition of the Agir pour le vivant Festival

    LUMA Days partnered with Agir pour le vivant for a series of lunch conversations held during the festival, from August 24 to 30, 2020, at the Nord-Pinus, one of Arles’s legendary hotels. On this occasion, festival guests were invited to take part in a series of conversations exploring questions of transition, the crisis of imagination, new geographies, and responsibility.

    In this interview, activist and creative professional Lionel Bordeaux, former Deputy Secretary-General of COP21, explores the crisis of imagination and the roles that communications professionals, political leaders, and artists can play in shaping new narratives.

    Lionel Bordeaux spent twenty years working in French politics and public administration as a communications advisor, including at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Urban Affairs, and Paris City Hall. He later served as Deputy Secretary-General of COP21, overseeing communications and partnerships. Following this experience, environmental issues became a central focus of his professional work. He has supported activists working to protect major natural areas around the world, including the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and Wood Buffalo National Park in Canada.

    He is currently developing a soccer ball made without plastic or animal leather, with the ambition of making it the official ball of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
