CORRESPONDENCES
Soundwalk Collective & Patti Smith
Presented at LUMA Arles as an immersive installation, the project weaves together field recordings, moving images, and poetry to conjure landscapes shaped by artistic creation, political struggle, and ecological fragility.
Bodies Never Lie
Stan Douglas
Through this film, Douglas explores flamenco not only as a musical tradition but also as a coded form of expression shaped by censorship, identity, and political constraints. The exhibition also features three of Stan Douglas’s most significant photographic series.
Amanat, The Sacred Forest
Saodat Ismailova
The exhibition forms a meditation on transmission and disappearance. In Ismailova’s practice, cinema, sound, and sculpture are not simply mediums of representation, but living moments of attention. Her work allows places to speak, histories to endure, and fragile worlds to remain perceptible.
10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Book Signing with Patti Smith
Free admission, no reservation required
To mark the publication of her new memoir, Bread of Angels: A Memoir, Patti Smith will be at LUMA Arles for a special one-hour book signing.
With Bread of Angels, Patti Smith continues her autobiographical work through an intimate meditation on memory, absence, and the forces that sustain a life. Moving between recollection and reflection, her spare, poetic prose spans eight decades, weaving together childhood and freedom, the living and the dead, art and the sacred. Above all, it is a book of devotion and gratitude that celebrates the enduring power of literature.
3:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m.
PRINT Opening
Free admission, no reservation required
LUMA Arles welcomes PRINT to the Parc des Ateliers, activating the East side of the campus as a space for experimentation across food, music, and image-making. Conceived as a platform for encounters and creative exchange, the project extends PRINT’s ongoing dialogue between artistic practices, hospitality, and collective experiences.
