    Poetry reading "All We Have Been Gifted Must Be Given Back"

    What do we owe to those who came before us, and to those who will come after us? Through a poetry reading, Brother Portrait explores the connections between memory, transmission, and collective responsibility.

    Blending dreamlike narratives, ancestral stories, and reflections on the legacies of colonialism, their texts move through questions of grief, care, resistance, and belonging. Between land, bodies, rivers, forests, and communities, this reading evokes the relationships that connect us to the living, to those who have passed on, and to future generations.

    Through poetry, Brother Portrait creates a space where memory and imagination, vulnerability and defiance, come together to reflect on what it means to inhabit a shared world and to take part in its transmission.
